After several years of hiatus, the police presence in Munster is being reactivated. Our general policing now comes under the Manotick Community Police Office for rural policing subordinated from the Kanata Community Police Office.
Lloyd Carr has “assumed the position” as the local police volunteer reporting to the Manotick office. His duties include providing liaison between the city police and the Munster Community Association and the community at large. One of the first incentives is to reactivate the Neighbourhood Watch program that was quite active for several years in the community.
Join the Munster Neighbourhood Watch! Fill out the attached Form and send it to Lloyd Carr or mail it to P.O. Box 159 in Munster:

All residences are reminded that if you see anything out of the ordinary, please do not hesitate to call the police to report the occurrence. When the situation arises, it is important to know the numbers to call for an appropriate response:
911 – For life threatening emergencies or crimes in progress;
613-230-6211 – other emergencies, i.e. suspicious incident or disturbance;
613-236-1222, ext 7300 – to report a theft, missing person, or stolen vehicle; and
311 – for bylaw dispatch services.
As a final note, all are reminded to double check their garage doors before retiring. It has been noted that many forget to close their electronic doors, which is an excellent invitation to our youth to explore and remove items from open storage areas. Also, ensure your entrance doors are locked and vehicles secure.
